Stitch Fix #4 – Fall Styles

Today when I got home, I had a huge surprise waiting for me.  Both my Stitch Fix and my Trunk Club boxes had been delivered!  This never happened before so I was very excited.  I couldn’t wait to see what fall styles had been chosen for me.  I decided to get started on my fix first since I only have 3 days to mail it back.  If you’re not familiar with Stitch Fix, it’s a styling service.  A personal stylist picks out clothing and accessories for you and has them delivered to your door.  You try them on in the comfort of your own home and send back anything you don’t want.  There is a twenty dollar styling fee, but it goes toward anything that you purchase.  As an added perk, you get 25% off if you decide to keep everything.

I opened the Stitch Fix box and carefully removed the sticker as I always do.  The way they package the clothing is beautiful.  I just can’t rip it apart.  Inside I found the note from my stylist, Kara, and my styling cards.  Stitch Fix gives you little cards that show you two different ways to wear each piece of clothing.  I created a binder for my cards so I can always see how they styled the clothing I kept.  Inside the box there is also a bag to use when you return any clothing you’re not keeping.  Just drop it in the mailbox or take it to the post office.  Returns are so easy!

Kendruh Layered Hem Knit Top by Skies are Blue

When I pulled the Kendruh Layered Hem Knit Top from the box, I really liked the color.  I also liked that it had three quarter length sleeves because I need some new shirts to transition to fall.  When I put the shirt on, it was really comfortable.  I liked the way it fit, and the layered bottom made it different from all the other shirts I own.  The only problem was the length.  I wish it had been just a little bit longer.  For that reason, I sent it back.

Aldama Scoop Neck Blouse by Le Lis

The Aldama Scoop Neck Blouse was the fall style that inspired me to braid my hair.  My hair hasn’t been long enough to braid for a long time.  I’ve wanted to try it for a while, and the polka dot pattern on this shirt seemed to fit the double braids.  Again, I was glad this shirt had three quarter length sleeves.  I also need more red shirts.  We have days at school when we’re supposed to wear certain colors.  I never seem to have red shirts to wear.  This one would be perfect for those days.  I decided to keep it.  My hair might be braided more often.

Walt Skirt by 41Hawthorn

I decided to wear my school bag for this picture.  Since it’s back to school time, the Walt Skirt would be perfect to wear for teaching.  It fit well and was very comfortable.  I also have a ton of black tops to wear with it.  The only problem is that I recently bought two other striped skirts that are very similar.  I came really close to keeping it, but I couldn’t justify spending $68 when I already own an almost identical skirt.

Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater by 41 Hawthorn

I really liked the Lizzy Colorblock Striped Sweater when I first saw it.  It was very soft and seemed like it would be comfortable as an end of fall style.  After months of wearing shorts and sandals, it was strange to put on jeans, boots, and a sweater.  It was also extremely hot!  I had Tony quickly snap one picture before I peeled this outfit off and stood in front of the air condition vent.  This sweater would definitely keep me warm on a cold fall night.  However, I like my sweaters to be more fitted.  As a result, I returned it.

Keziah Shirt Dress by 41 Hawthorn

The Keziah Shirt Dress was the last item I pulled from my Stitch Fix box.  The pattern was a little busy, but I liked the colors.  When I tried it on, it was a little bit big at the top.  I didn’t like the pattern any better with it on me, so I decided to return it.
